Get some contests and events going?

It makes the game fun and more family like and gets people to stay in guilds. It also will make us closer to our alliance members. If its not SlaY organizing it I think that some of the alliance could organize something.

As soon as we get a couple more members, which I believe we should get very soon (I've been recruiting a lot lately), we can start some events. I just need some ideas as to what kind of events you guys want.

How's about something ridiculous, like trying to run through a mish where everyone has pets and mini-pets involved?

Or maybe where everyone is of the same profession? That could potentially be entertaining.

Maybe combine the two?

Not sure how this would work in terms of numbers, but maybe if we have set times on a set date we could arrange more than one run sorta thing?

This might need to wait till we've got a few more active members, but we could also make it an alliance-wide competition.

We could have different categories such as:
Best Lymerick
Best Haiku
Best Imagery
Some other things maybe, not sure what, but also with an over-all winner.

If the comp. was alliance wide, the leaders of each guild would vote and decide, if just for AoD then it could be judged by the officers and Eliot.

What say you?

I like the idea, but like you said, we need more active members, let alone an active alliance. I've been trying to get more guilds into the alliance, but haven't had much luck in my ventures, but I will continue to try.

Some other things that have been brought my attention are things like weekly drawings and other lottery-type money-making what-nots. In my experiences as well, a scavenger hunt always goes well also, but once again, we need more members for that.

So I thought of something else that might be appealing to the guild. In my old guild, we used to have cape contests every couple of months. In this contest, everyone could make a cape that they liked (2 entries), screen shot it, and post it on the forums, then at the end of the entry date, a poll begins on which ones everyone likes the most (only 1 vote each), and that way, everyone (or mostly everyone) is happy with the guild's cape, AND usually there will be a prize to the winner... say like... 20k or so. What does everyone think about this?

I did that in my old guild too. It had a great outcome.

What about an Alliance wide Tournament where individaul players make a team and register their team (1-20k for the whole team or per person). We hold it at one guildhall and either winner takes all or runner up takes 30% or money back type deal. You think that would work?

After considering this idea, we have decided that it would not be fair to all players to do it exactly the way you said. So after some thought we have come up with this. If you agree please send me a pm.
We could do a monthly 1v1 tournament. We could open a thread for people wishing to participate, and clean it after every tournament. If you want in you put a post on the thread stating your in game name. On the day of the tournament, everyone participating will get a number, and we will choose random numbers to decide the match-ups. You'd get 5 minutes of prepare time after determining your partner.

If I get 5 pms on here then we will initiate it. If you like the idea then tell your guildies to hop on and send me a message. Happy Hunting! ^.^
